***IMPORTANT NOTICE*** - Birdline now have limited space to take additional birds into the charity. Managers will inform donors of any likely delay to the charity being able to take a bird in.

WARNING – Please Be Aware

If you are looking to re-home your parrot, please always use a reputable Parrot Rescue Organisation.

We do know of some so called ‘Parrot Rescues’ who are taking in birds, and then re-selling them despite what their web sites states.

Oscar (Orange Winged Amazon) - 3930712

Name: Oscar

Breed: Orange Winged Amazon

Reference No: 3930712

Summary: Hello, my name is Oscar and I'm a 13 year-old Orange-winged Amazon. Recent information has revealed that I'm actually a lady so my safehouse mummy has started calling me Oscarina!

Description:
I really like a tickle and will fly over to you when I want a fuss, but generally I'm happy just to have you in the room with me. You do your thing and I'll do mine! Please don't try to pick me up, as I don't enjoy that. I like having people with me for company and love for you to chat to me, but I'm not a hands on kind of girl. I do really enjoy a shower from a spray bottle and shake my head around until I've spread water everywhere and look like a dinosaur! I love fruit and nuts and enjoy nibbling on whatever you're having. My favourite place to be is near a window so I can look out and watch the world go by. I can have quite a loud voice (I make a sound like an old dial-up modem and sometimes even honk!), but I don't keep the noise up for very long and often it's just to remind you that I'm here. I can usually be distracted from making a racket if you talk to me. My favourite foods are apple, mangetout, green beans and toast. Yum! My current safehouse mummy works full-time, and I don't seem to mind being home by myself. I do like her to be in the same room as me when she's home so that I can keep an eye on what she's doing. In all my time in Birdline, it is said I have always been very good at supervising! I'm not known for being destructive, but occasionally a bit of wood furniture can strike my fancy and before you know it....oops! This is a rare thing for me to do, but you do need to keep an eye on me to make sure I'm keeping out of trouble. I'm happy with men or women and in the past I've gotten along great with children. I can get a bit jealous of other pets, though. I've had a few different homes over my years and all I want now is someplace I can settle down for good with a human companion who understands me and accepts me for who I am. I really am a lovely girl, so if you think you're the one for me, please apply. I can't wait to meet you!

Comes with cage? Yes

Location: Gloucestershire

Note: This bird is in the latter stages of the rehoming process and a potential forever home may have been found. Please do not apply for this bird unless the red writing is removed. Thank you.
