My safehouse has been pretty poorly since being with me

After 1 lot of antibiotics with S.Hill another lot with me when arrived being nebulized 3 times a day I took her back to vets today well what a shock when the nurse brought this out to me that they removed after flushing her nasal/ sinus.

Dont look if your too sqeemish but first time posting pics so apologise if it doesnt come out!!!

Deb,

I'm afraid that those pictures are too tiny to see but it sounds like your poor SH baby has serious sinusitis. I hope he/she is feeling much better after the sinus flush x

Poor wee thing, at least now that "crap" is out she'll start to get better. Did you notice a "nasty" smell from her nares (hope I've spelt that right)
I once had a bird with sinusitis and the smell was rank!!

This is the second sinus flush that the poor little soul has had, so I really hope he/she feels better. After a month's worth of antibiotics with me and Deb we both hoped this wouldn't be necessary again. Here's hoping he/she stays as sweet and loving as previously and gets better at last.

Update on safehouse. She woke this morning to very dirty nose, and a swollen shut eye. Gave her medicine, nebulized, nose totally bunged up with what I can only think is the left overs from the visit yesterday.
Over the course of the day she has really perked up, eye opened, swelling has gone down on her face and she is becoming herself once again. I gave her her medicine this evening washed her beak and cleaned her up and she sat with me for well over an hour having her head scratched by my youngest son. She actually went sleep on me while he was doing it!!
Thank you for the well wishes hopefully she will carry on getting better like she has done today.

Here's hoping that this time everything settles down and she has no more trouble with her sinuses. Give her a head scratch from me x

I had an update from Debbie earlier and it looks as if this second flush out has really done the job. This poor little soul has had a really tough few weeks but has put up with all the indignity very well. Great work Debbie, and well done to the litle bird, I really hope you continue to feel better.

Thank you for your very kind comments xx
Giving her her medication this morning she gave me a present a fab bite right between the fingers while holding on very tightly to them so I couldnt pull away as you would instinctively do!! quite deep and a "pretty row" two holes and one deep gash, thank you hunny but it hasnt put me off giving you the rest of your meds!! Vets orders so have them you shall my little love!!
But yes as Sharon says above she is so much better today, no dirty nose, all clear, breathing sounds clearer, even her bites harder lol !!

She certainly sounds better than when you rang me yesterday Debs! Obviously got her spirit back! Great news that her sinuses are clearer today. You need to brush up on your reflexes now Debs!

Glad she is on the mend and hope your bite wound is too!

I feel your pain as my ammie and I had a diference of opinion this morning about is medication, needless to say I won but am wearing the battle scars with pride!

Well done you and your bird. It breaks your heart when they are not well doesn't it? We wish her well and hope the bite heals soon!
