Sorry for being the No1 waffler about talking birds but I really have waited decades to hear the magic words and Oodie frustrates the barnacles off me.

    1.  He always seems to stop babbling if I 'interrupt' or get his attention, then he switches to "Hello Ian, perhaps you could give me food or an object to chew"

    2.  He very rarely replies to stuff  (see above) except for whistling which is a  bit passe.  Yes well done oodie but wolf-whistles are so last season.

    3.  He can't seem to pronounce D and thinks he's called OohJeh.  Should I just give up?

    4.  His Donald Duck voice gives me grave doubts about the earnest stories of how Alex's entertained Cleopatra blah blah

More talking training advice would be very welcome...!

He does sound a character Ian, and it sounds like he's got you exactly where he wants you!

Sorry I can't help with the talking advice, maybe get an African Grey? Norm's vocab is amazing, but I can't take the credit for it. He just does it on his own!

If anything, I would like to find out how to shut him up and of course, stop him saying 'certain' words. When he is yakking and I need some peace, I shout 'Norm!' and he replies 'Shurrup!!!!!!'
Until one has loved an animal, part of their soul remains unawakened

    ROFL Ian

Poor Oodie, give him time, Pedro one of miy Lex's has only just started to learn to talk and to be honest I have no idea what hes on about most of the time, the other one (who is much older) Alex, only says a couple of things now and again when and if he feels like it!, and again I have no idea what it is.

Mandys bertie talks quite well I believe.

We have a BF amazon here who also gets his letters mixed up, he has problems with Bs and Gs... some days hes a 'Good Gird' or a 'Good Goy'!.
