Hi, I am hoping somebody on here can offer a bit of help and advice. We have had a Blue Fronted Amazon for about 10 months and he has always appeared fit and healthy, until last Monday when he stopped talking all of a sudden and became very listless. We love him to bits, although he is an utter nark and is very difficult to deal with. But we have coped. I kept an eye on him but was not happy on Tuesday, so took him to an avian vet in Cheshire. They suspected Aspergillus and did blood tests, x-...

3 Replies and 5427 Views Bitey black headed caique  5427  3 Started by  sosotalk Hi, I have a baby black headed caique (About 6 months) who is ever so hyper. He's loving and has a lovely time out of his cage but he doesn't know his own strength - he tends to bite a little too hard. As I've said he's so hyper and demanding. Is this typical of caiques and is there anYthing I should be doing to try and get him steadier/calmer Also, how can I convince him to stop biting people so hard &160; Thanks, Sophia.

Hello people .. my first post here and I&160;could use a little advice regarding Momo the blue-crowned conure. Momo is 4 years old, very healthy and has come to me from a very loving home where the owner did not have time to care for the bird. Knowing that I&160;have kept budgies in the past and always loved parakeets, she offered me the bird and huge cage free of charge and I&160;was happy to accept. My concern is that Momo is very timid, even after a week of settling in he tends to sh...

I am after a bit of help please, I have an aviary&160;with Kakariki's, one of the pairs had a chick 2 weeks ago (they are a young pair and only one chick hatched) The chick has just started getting adult feathers on its tail, however I have noticed that it is not moving about normally in the box. Today I saw that one of the toes is missing and it's leg is extended all the way out to the side. I'm worried about this from a developmental point of view - I'm not selling/rehoming ...
