My Son Edward has a 10 month old Blue Fronted Amazon, Max.

Max has only been a member of his family for two weeks, but has developed a taste for boys ears.

In true Blue Peter style, using a cheap hat, a bootlace & 6 wine corks, i made a Parrot distraction hat

Well it apears the hat works, but the corks take longer to drill than to destroy!!

    Scott,

Have you tried plastic milk or pop bottle tops? Quicker to puncture but a bit more of a challenge to destroy. (Oh, and bird safe).

Great idea, a hat with built in bird toys. I have a clothes protector thingy with budgie type toys on it to protect my clothes from the SH quakers.

My husband wears a hat with drop down ear warmers when cuddling the Jendays as he gets one on each ear!

Love the hat - reminds me of a hat my pal Julie wore when we were at TIPS for a parrot behaviour course not so long ago - she wore it in the Amazon aviary and she had loads of amazon pals tugging on the tassels of her hat
