Came in yesterday afternoon after a nice day out to find little Max dead at the bottom of his cage. He had been his usual self in the morning tying to pluck my eyes out when he was given his toast so it came as a real shock. He had always been what I describe as a bit "puffy" too fat for his own good but he could fly even though he didn't have many feathers and it made him puff like mad! We had made such progress over the past year and a bit. His mate poor Harley just doesn't seem to know what to do with himself apart from ripping even more feathers out. He has made himself bleed today. I don't know how long they had been together but I think it was a few years. I hope birdies don't die of a broken heart as poor Harley looks so sad!!

Fly free little Max we miss so you and that awful noise you could make!

Oh I am so very sorry to hear this Vicky. I met these two only once and briefly, but they get into your heart so quickly, especially the special needs guys. I do hope all stops are pulled out to find another friend for Harley. Do try a small cuddly toy, may give him a little comfort at night, poor little chap. Rest secure that his last few months were spent happily in the very best home he could have had. xxx
