We work full time so will be looking for a pair which would be happy to keep each other company whilst we are out during the day. We will be read...

1 Replies and 781 Views New to BL  781  1 Started by  Jan Just thought I'd say hello. My name is Janette, I live in Lincolnshire. I have a small ' collection' of waifs and strays consisting of a pair of ringnecks, a pair of cocketiels and a budgie. I have been thinking about buying a baby parrot for a while now . During my search for a reputable breeder ( no easy feat in itself!) I stumbled across Birdline and seeing the fab work that is being done here I have changed my mind. I would love to help out by offering a home to a bird.

4 Replies and 1270 Views Hello there, I could do with some help.  1270  4 Started by  Janette Hello there Never done this before, but here goes. I'm new to parroting & am looking for a companion parrot. However I'm a bit of a novice. I did rescue a male Indian Ringneck a few years ago from a fairly miserable lifestyle, he'd had two homes & he was only 2! One child was allergic so he never got handled so he was passed onto 'friends' who put him in a shed & the kids (at first) did go down to speak & feed him grapes but because he nipped & ran away, again, he ne...

6 Replies and 1033 Views hi everyone, thanks for letting me in  1033  6 Started by  joshmac Hi everyone, My name is Josh and I'm new to the forum but have watched the site for some time now.  The reason I have just joined is that I have recently lost my buddy Elwood who was my Rosella. My wife and I rescued two of them at the same time (a while ago now) and called them Jake and Elwood. They were very scared of all people and we were told they would never be able to leave the cage. They came to us in a cage suitable for budgies so I bought a nice big cage and let them settle in. ...
