    Hi Everyone,

Due to a huge amount of requests from the General Public for holiday homes, this forum has now been moved to the public section of the website. Please note that if you offer/require a holiday home it is your responsibility to check their suitability and they may not necessarily be a Birdline member.

I have a 6 year old Hahn's Macaw and am desperate to find a holiday home for her while I am in Africa from November 27th to February 22nd - I would so appreciate the help as I have a rare formof blood cancer and my parents are taking me to see family and the sunshine Geraldine 01364 73395

    Hi Geraldine,

I am sorry to hear about your problems, and hope that a trip to the sun will do you well.

Maybe it is easier to get some help with your Hahn's if you could add where in the country you are

    Best wishes x

    Geraldine,

I'm too far from you, but I too understand your need to get away.

We have quite a few members in Devon, so I suspect someone may be able to help. What would be helpful for any potential carer to know is what sort of temperament is your baby? Oh, and has he/she had a clean bill of health? Might sound a bit to the point but most of our members have birds of their own and would want to ensure there is no risk.

I sincerely hope ou get something sorted.

Sharon H may reply soon, but she knows of someone who might be able to help (Olga). Otherwise as Helen says, there are lots of us in South Devon, hopefully someone will help you out (main problem may be that its for three months)

Hi Geraldine, try Olga Biggs on 07979 123610. I haven't spoken to her so don't know how she's fixed, but she is very knowledgeable, confident and competent. She had my macaw for 3 months and he's the stroppiest most awkward bird I know of. She does charge, but if you leave her with a good supply of whatever your bird eats, it isn't a lot. She's in Paignton by the way.

    Hi

I wish you well in your hunt for a suitable holiday home.  I'm sure someone will be able to help out - if you were nearer I could have helped.  Hope you enjoy the sunshine when you get away.
