awww does no one love my little Dixie he is patiently waiting for his forever home still he has been here for over 6 months now and is starting to feel that he is never going to get that special person that will treat him with the kid gloves he needs and gain his full trust so that they can have the best relationship ever.

Hi Saul & Jennifer

That is a good idea Saul.  My husband comes from down your way Jennifer and he says that he will help but you would have to pay the fuel cost.   Maybe if you were chosen for him Jennifer then someone may be able to bring him from where he is to our area etc etc    then we could bring him to you

Do you mean Molly the Ecki??? If it's her she is with me and she desperately needs a foster home BUT it has to be the right one. We have had people apply but had to say no as they were not what Molly needs.
Molly has the sweetest little voice....and will love you to bits if you are male but she does not like women and HATES me with a passion. MY husband can do anything with her but when she is on the floor whilst I am cleaning her cage she will stalk me and bite my feet. She is a complex little girl who needs a Daddy (my OH works away a fair bit and she gets no cuddles when he is away. She is not noisy but is a typical female Ecki in that she is wanting to lay most of the time. She is a mess bless her butI am sure she can grow back her feathers if she gets the love of a man on a regular basis (she has grown some back before) It will be so rewarding to help her become the beautiful girl she was before she laid her first egg!! The bald patch on her head is because she rubs her head against the bars!

yeah thats the molly i was on about. that pic of her is BEAUTIFUL what a sweetie. i bet you just love your pedicures when you are cleaning her cage.

give her the brush see if she will do it herself lol i may just apply for her but i am quite a distance from you. I am the main parrot carer in this mad house so maybe just maybe i dont know what the other half would think about regular toe pecks but hey i am sure she could cope

hmmm ooo ooo ooo its nearly my birthday so might have to creep to Kirstin

If Molly was not a woman hater I would have applied ... I really feel for her. But her being so hormonal might also get exascerbated by having my Eckie boy around. Too much of a risk. As for the foot attacks ... if she gets used to a big cage or is regularly moved from a day cage to a sleeping cage and plenty of outside time, she might lose that nest protecting instinct and settle down. It sounds as if she is a happy bird in her safehouse, getting lots of attention from the man of the house. A proper diva.

sorry Jennifer wasnt meaning you hope you didnt think that I know you have a soft spot for Dixie as you have said before.

A transport relay would be needed I think in order to move Dixie down country but I must say that he doesnt do being touched at all so I dont know how you would go about getting him anywhere as the stress of going into a carrier could be fatal or knock him right back to day one in his progression .

I wish I could drive and /or had a car but my Gp has told me I am not to drive due to ill health and medication so I wouldnt be any help at all.

Obviously it depends on who is suitable for Dixie and how far they are prepared to go to get him to them in the end.

Yes; I think the journey to North Devon would be very hard on him. I have a holiday in late April so, as time rushes on, am going to wait to see who is ready to come home here in May rather than coming earlier, settling a bit and the going to a holiday home before coming back here. Thanks very much indeed for offers of help with transport, Saul. I could certainly come part way, say to Birmingham, Coventry or somewhere similar but it is still tough on whatever birdie to travel so far.
I hope for his sake he finds somewhere before too long. Also for Smalley and family who must be growing more and more attached to him.
