I saw a local ad. that some1 wants to sell her birds.  And she has 1 lovebird bonded with a budgie.  And that's new to me.  Is it common for a budgie to bond w/ a lovebird?  Any1 recommend this move?

There can be lots of different bondings with birds. There are African Greys bonded to Amazons, cockatiels bonded to budgies, and yes, I've heard of a lovebird bonded to a budgie too, and even a cockatiel bonded to a macaw.... as for buying a bird from anywhere, that's a different matter. Why is the woman selling up? How long has she had them? Are the birds aviary or companion birds? Healthy? Clean? I would be very careful.

My budgies will bond with an eagle given the chance they are mad, however the same would not apply to the eagle. It all depends on the individual birds, they may be happy together but they may not. My budgies got on really well with our Ammie but our Grey did not and it was not worth the risk of them coming into contact so had to be separated. Our ammie hates with a vengeance the Lovebirds and would have no doubt that she would kill them given a chance. The budgies are nextdoor to the lovebirds now and between the separation they do talk to each other however lovebirds have very powerful beaks and are capable of inflicting severe injuries to a budgie so are never going to be in the same space together.
