    All

Over the next few days we shall be upgrading the forums. This is in preparation for making them work with the TapaTalk apps.

During the upgrade, there will be times when the forums are not available, please bear with us, and wish us luck in carrying out a successful upgrade

This will help to make the forums more user friendly on mobile devices, and hopefully encourage a few people back to the Birdline Forums.

To those who have been asking about this for a long time, thanks for being patient, it is only in the past couple of months that a stable TapaTalk version has been available for our forum system

Yep Marc helped greatly with upgrading the web site to the latest version, without which the forum could not be upgraded. Now we have to do the forum upgrade, without which TapaTalk will not work. Last bit is doing the configuration for TapaTalk. Pretty boring stuff but I have been pestering them for a good six months to get a stable version which will work on our site.

I am being realistic about what affect it will have (I don't have Facebook or any social networking accounts), but hopefully it may encourage some people back to the forum from time to time.

Will we all have to "upgrade" or will it just automatically work for us when we log in.
If we do how do we go about it when it is done. Could you put up "how to" instructions for us all
    Thank you

Everything should work as now, although it may look slightly different. Main thing will be that anyone wishing to access the forum using a mobile device, will be able to do so using TapaTalk. For example if you navigate to the forum using an iPhone, you will be asked whether you wish to download and install TapaTalk. You can find more info about it by Googling.

This is of course all subject to everything working ok during the upgrade!!!

I do hope this will encourage folk to write on the BL Forum rather than just Facebook. I wonder if members who write on FB could automatically copy to the BL Forum. If the forum had been so sparse when I first looked I doubt if I would have thought Birdline supported enough to investigate, join, foster and safehouse. The more there is on the forum the more people will be attracted to Birdline, I think. No; I haven't put much on for a long time but have had (am having) health issues. Dixie is home though so that's brilliant.
All the best with the upgrade.

As part of the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we have to give visitors to our web site an opportunity to choose not to accept Cookies each time they visit. The most straight forward way to achieve this is to ask people to 'Accept Cookies' (or not) each time they visit the site. The users choice will then ONLY be remembered while the browser is open, once it is closed or the computer is shut down the cookie will expire thus the users choice will not be remembered.
