    Hi all

Just waffling really cos I am anxious, Magic has gone into the vets this morning to have her ring removed. Those that know Magic know she has deformed feet and the ring is now restrictive around  her joints causing the joint on her ring leg to swell and cut into her leg. So it has to come off, but she will need a mild short acting athestetic (sp?) and I have just finished a night shift and should be getting some sleep, instead I am sat here waffling on cos I hate it when they are away and loathe them being in the vet especially when they have to be given a GA no matter how short acting or light. The vet has promised to call me the minute Magic is awake and I should beable to pick her up at around 2pm...so spare a prayer for magic and a thought for me as I chew my nails down

My one aim is to serve the parrots in my care, to help those to weak to defend themselves, and bring alittle happiness into their lives, I prefer parrots to people but can handle them in moderation :)

Hi all, thank you for the good wishes, and I have heard from the vet and Magic is now less the offending ring and doing just fine, she will need some painkillers and is going to have a course of antibiotics 'just in case' and I will be picking her up just after 2 pm, we do worry about these birds

MAGIC is doing really well, alot more mobile, the swelling on her joint has subsided almost completely and the offending ring is now attached in a plastic bag to her paperwork Thank you from Magic and me for all the good wishes xxx
